Hotel

Ich mach meine Bewertung auf englisch weil das mir viel einfache ist, also - here goes. We loved this hotel, the staff were so friendly and when you are nice to people you always get the best service! It is a small hotel with a completely authentic oriental feel to it - lovely furniture in keeping with the style of the building, you almost feel as if you are staying with friends. I wanted to go back again this year but was unable to, but next year - definately!! If you want Animation, discos, bingo and a chance to wear your finest Gucci then this is not the hotel for you, but if you want a real feel for the country, in a peaceful hotel with charming staff - go here!!

Zimmer

The rooms are air-conditioned, have insect netting, and curtains to keep out the light/heat too. Our room had a TV, sofa, coffee table, safe, wardrobe, many different lights, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. It was on the top floor of the tower at the front and had a fantastic view if the lagoon.

Service

We were extreemly lucky to be given the large Honeymoon bedroom overlooking the lagoon, and I suspect not all the rooms are as spacious but bearing in mind the very reasonable price of this hotel even a smaller room should not put you off! Rooms were cleaned daily, and clean towels were also available at the pool for guests use.

Gastronomie

The restaurant had a varied selection of food every day, and I am glad to say it did not serve foreign food but almost entirely Egyptian specialities. In El Gouna it is possible to eat at the other hotels if you are on All Inclusive with the dine around scheme; we used this once to eat at the 5* Steinburger Golf Resort. The food here was of a similar standard to the Dawar, but with more choice (however you can only eat so much - I felt it was almost obscene to have so much food in a country where most of the population are living in poverty) and you have to pay for the drinks at the other hotel. All in all the food was of a very good standard in the Dawar and you can eat out in egypt so cheaply that if you want a change it does not cost the earth.

Lage & Umgebung

It is a small, cosy hotel in the best part of down-town El Gouna right on the lagoons and only a few minutes walk from the main square in El Gouna - go here!!

Gesamteindruck
